Long War Mod Working with Cracked XCOM: How to Update and Patch the Mod

Andy has been gaming on PCs from the very beginning, starting as a youngster with text adventures and primitive action games on a cassette-based TRS80. From there he graduated to the glory days of Sierra Online adventures and Microprose sims, ran a local BBS, learned how to build PCs, and developed a longstanding love of RPGs, immersive sims, and shooters. He began writing videogame news in 2007 for The Escapist and somehow managed to avoid getting fired until 2014, when he joined the storied ranks of PC Gamer. This will hugely help your late game as you get usually one or two 80 aim and 50+ will soldiers per recruiting cycle (3 days) and 80 aim means +15 increase from the basic 65 aim that equals 1.5 S.C.O.P.Es. This means that your Assaults can snipe enemies from longer distances even with shotguns, Snipers basically never miss and your Heavies can actually hit something. Also training Squaddies is actually much easier when you don't need to babysit them as much, them being able to hit enemies from medium distances with reasonable certainity and high Will means they won't panic immediately when fired upon, taking slight damage or even if somebody is killed next to them. Later game with Iron Will and this recruiting method you will guarantee all your soldiers have over 100 Will and thus very high chances of being Psions and being very hard to control when facing enemy Psionics.

Nine months ago in June 2020, the XCOM 2Developers rolled a new update that completely revamped the entire game along with its launcher. Unfortunately, although this update did introduce some exciting features, it also changed the launcher for XCOM 2, which ultimately resulted in mods not working. The Developers themselves did not address the problem, and players who were aware of alternate mod launcher got their problem fixed while those like me were still searching for an official solution. Luckily, there seems to be a small confusion about this solution.

I hope these drivers will help, please let us know when you know something! If it still doesn't run, post us another dxdiag along with another rar file that you sent in your first post and we'll try to figure it out.

The game does not start if the output of the command "ip -s link" is longer than 4096 characters. That is because, in the function bitsquid::network_info(char*), where they query the networking information, they do not handle that case correctly.See this picture for reference. It was reported to upstream (Pieces Interactive) but Magicka 2 does not seem to be maintained anymore.

The game does not allow you to change its resolution on a multi-monitor setup on GNOME with the AMD Catalyst drivers. A temporary workaround is to disable the side monitors.Jason over at unencumbered by facts managed to get it working with his multi-monitor setup using a single display server, he however is using Nvidia. 2ff7e9595c
